Anthea Garratt is a professional dance artist based in the north-west. She works mainly as a choreographer and teacher of contemporary dance at The Hammond, Chester and The Northern Ballet School, Manchester. She has also practiced and taught Pilates and fitness classes since 1989 and has vast knowledge and experience in the dance and fitness industry. AG-Bodywork has been devised by Anthea as a holistic variation of muscle conditioning and stretching to dramatically improve core strength, muscle balance, body alignment and concentration.
I discovered yoga a couple of years back when living in London, I always felt I was so busy and overwhelmed living in a city I couldn’t fully shut myself of, until I found yoga, at first it wasn’t for me, but the more I practised and the more classes I attended i found some peace inside I didn’t know I had. I felt so many benefits mentally and over time, physically, I started to notice changes to my body, more strength and flexibility and I could achieve postures I didn’t know were possible but mostly It changed the way I felt about myself, for the better.
I completed my 200hr Hatha yoga teacher training in a beautiful rustic farmyard in Tuscany surrounded by wildlife, somewhere I felt very much myself, at one with nature. It was an incredible experience where I gained so much knowledge and understanding of yoga.
I’ve practised many types of yoga from Bikram, ashtanga, yin & yang, jivamukti, the list goes on.

Like many people, my first yoga experience was in a local gym. At first I found some of the postures challenging but after each class I enjoyed a prolonged sense of wellbeing and calm. Over the last 10 years I have had the opportunity to practise many types of yoga, through classes, workshops and retreats. I am passionate about the dynamic, flowing and core strengthening yoga styles. For this reason I travelled to India to study Ashtanga, Vinyasa flow, Rocket and Yin Yoga with the Yoga Alliance. From my classes you can expect flowing sequences linking breath with movement and focus on core strength. Class regulars can expect to gain strength, flexibity and more clarity of mind. Based in Chester and with over 10 years teaching experience, Emma comes from a dance background and splits her time between choreographing and teaching for vocational schools and colleges, and training clients in Pilates Mat work. Since gaining her teaching qualification at the London Pilates Institute in 2001,Emma has built up a loyal client base. Her approachable manner and professional touch have earned her a reputation as a popular and respected Pilates instructor and we are thrilled to have Emma on board with us teaching her own fusion of’ Hot Pilates Flow’ classes.xxx
During 1996 I found my roots in Yoga practice. My initiation was through the practice of Bhakti Yoga, devotional love! Here I developed spiritually and began my work on the physical practice of Hatha Yoga. With much hard work and commitment I quickly progressed and became qualified to teach through the British School of Yoga.
I am a full time Fitness & Health Professional with 18 years practice in Holistic Therapy. I teach Pilates
to advanced level and offer personal training. I teach all levels of Yoga, from children to adults and for the severely disabled. My teaching and practice methods are safe and life changing!

I found the practice roughly 8years ago when I was living in London. I immediately knew I need yoga to help me survive my hectic existence amongst the chaos of the Big Smoke.
It didn’t take long for my life to be transformed. I disciplined myself with strict practices such as Bikram and Ashtanga and immersed myself in studies throughout India for over 5years.
Yoga has given me connection to my inner being, mediatation has opened gateways to inner dimensions which has reflected outwardly as love and compassion to myself and others.
Like everyone on this earth walk I’m here to learn and grow. My classes express a freedom of movement, strong connection to breath and commitment to discipline, all the tools which have helped me find my expression of Love and which I hope will help others too.
I teach a sequence per month, set to either a specific theme or peak posture to enable practitioners to see their development, understand and learn a sequence to encourage unique expression and connection to within.

I began to practice Yoga in 2008, at the health club I used to work in. I mainly practised Ashtanga and kriya Yoga. However, for the last 3 years I have been spending 6 months at a time studying and deepening my knowledge of Yoga in India. I’ve attended various workshops and Yogashalas throughout Asia including – Ashtanga, Kundalini, Dharma, Hatha and Vinyasa.
This year I decided to enrol with Yoga Alliance and complete my Yoga teacher training – RYS200. I am a certified Hatha and Vinyasa teacher. I have been traditionally trained in Rishikesh, India, comprising Asana, Anatomy and Physiology, sequencing of Yoga postures, Pranayama, Mantra theory and Philosophy, adjustments and corrections, Meditation, Yogic Therapy.
